Recently, Bordcon Embedded Design announced the release of the SBC3566 development board based on the Rockchip RK3566 processor. It is equipped with a quad core 64 bit Arm Cortex A55 CPU (up to 1.8 GHz) and an integrated NPU delivering 1 TOPS of computing power, supporting mainstream AI frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. While maintaining low power consumption, it is capable of handling lightweight edge AI inference tasks.
The product adopts a modular design combining a core board and a carrier board. The MINI3566 core board is tailored for embedded system integration, offering 2GB/4GB DDR3L RAM and 8GB to 128GB eMMC storage. Through standard B2B connectors, it exposes USB3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe2.1/SATA (for high speed storage expansion), multiple display outputs (HDMI 4K, eDP, LVDS, MIPI DSI), as well as commonly used control buses such as I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO. This allows customers to flexibly design custom carrier boards according to industry requirements.
The SBC3566 development board provides a complete prototyping platform with PCB dimensions of 120×90 mm. Its onboard interfaces include RS485, 4×USB2.0 Host, USB3.0 Host, USB2.0 OTG, dual MIPI CSI camera connectors, an M.2 expansion slot, audio I/O, and ADC, along with a Debug interface and a Micro SD card slot. For display, it supports LVDS, MIPI DSI, HDMI, and eDP outputs. On the software side, it currently supports Debian 12 and Buildroot, and can be paired with expansion modules such as 4G, Wi Fi, camera, and a 10.1 inch LCD.
